A life coach is someone who aids the improvement of day to day lives by encouraging you to find more meaning, develop better relationships, find a career you love and build confidence in every area of your life. They do this by guiding you into developing your goals, identifying obstacles standing in your way and defining strategies and tools that will enable you to achieve your goals and overcome hurdles.

Transformational life coach

Life coaches can be found in specific to areas for improvement such as career, relationships or health. However, most commonly, a transformational life coach aims to provide you with a wide range of powerful exercises, tools and activities designed to promote transformation. The aim of this approach is to enable you to reach a higher potential and move past any barriers keeping you from living a fully enjoyable and authentic life.

Holistic Life Coach

A holistic life coach, on the other hand, is more focused on guiding you to achieve in every aspect of your life by connecting your mind, body and spirit. A holistic approach aims to connect all areas of your life to promote emotional wellness and increase overall well-being. This is done with a focus on relaxation techniques including meditation, crystals, Reiki, breathing techniques and calming music.

All types of life coaching focuses on personal development, clarifying goals and dreams and establishing manageable steps, and strategies, to keep you on track to reach those. Unlike traditional therapy, whereby the number of sessions isn’t predetermined and instead adopts the view of seeking ongoing treatment and commitment until you feel you no longer need the guidance, life coaching sets out an established programme and timeframe.

Executive & Career Coaching

Working with a career coach is a great way to define your goals and focus on professional development, with the aim of seeking a career that you find rewarding and fulfilling. Often when we feel unsatisfied, bored and stagnant at work, this leads to strains on our relationships and overall physical and mental health, stemming from burnout and exhaustion. We spend so much of our time at work and so it’s important to be content with where we are at. If you feel as though you need some guidance or direction in this area, to breakdown how you can feel less stressed and more fulfilled, or you need guidance on where to go next, a career coach may be beneficial.

With the support of a career coach, you’ll be able to understand what it is you want to do, the relevant skills you have and how to develop in a way that will support your goals. Usually, during sessions you will gain an insight into how to progress in your current role, understand your ideal career based on strengths, identify and overcome obstacles holding you back from your goals, rebalance your personal priorities, overcome limiting beliefs and develop skills, experience and traits that will allow you to obtain future opportunities.
