“ When people come into Otherway, it's one of our main benefits that we shout about.”

Sadie Elford, People & Culture Lead at Otherway, shares how MYNDUP became more than just a benefit, it’s now a core part of how they support, develop, and care for their growing team. As their culture scaled, so did their need for ongoing, professional wellbeing support, and MYNDUP delivered exactly that.

“MYNDUP helps us show our employees that we care about their mental health, are here to support their career goals and invest in them so they can be the best version of themselves”. As Otherway succeeded, so did their wellbeing…

At Otherway, wellbeing was built into the fabric of the business from day one. An open, supportive culture where mental health could be spoken about without stigma was already part of their DNA.

But as the team expanded, the need for support grew with them. What once worked in a close-knit environment no longer fit a growing workforce approaching 100 employees.

They wanted something that aligned with the standard of care they believed their people deserved. That’s where MYNDUP came in… “…we put the building blocks in place, and now MYNDUP means we can build upon that from a mental health perspective.”

“...people openly speak about their struggles and that's awesome. But it only takes you to a certain point. You then need that help that myndup is able to provide.”

Having worked with traditional EAPs in the past, Sadie immediately recognised how MYNDUP went further. Rather than focusing solely on reacting to those in crisis, it created space for proactive mental health care and career support across the business, not just those in immediate need.

“...with MYNDUP, everyone can benefit from having a chat to someone completely external from their day to day life who is a professional on an ongoing basis. Having that very comprehensive offering is a really awesome thing to be able to offer to your employees.”

It meant HR and leadership didn’t have to carry the emotional burden alone and employees didn’t have to rely on informal advice when professional care was needed.

“...I always say to managers, you're not a mental health expert and you should not be giving advice. So don't listen and direct… say, ‘I think you'd really benefit from using the myndup platform’.”

For Sadie, this came into practice with a deeper impact than she could have expected “...someone on our team was really struggling... I actually worry about what would have happened without MYNDUP.”

Both MYNDUP and Otherway believe the people behind the business come first, so it was a natural fit. It gave the team a simple way to keep growing and helping their people thrive.

"We wanted to go to that next step… it's not only about doing the best thing for our employees. It's about projecting that out to the world.”
